Governor Glenn Youngkin announced that Acoustical Sheetmetal Company (ASC) is set to expand its operations in Virginia Beach. The expansion involves a $45.8 million investment for a new 250,000-square-foot facility and additional machinery, which will create 350 jobs.

“This third expansion by Acoustical Sheetmetal Company in six years is a testament to the strength of our local workforce and the pro-business environment we’ve worked hard to create,” said Governor Glenn Youngkin. “350 new jobs mean hundreds of new opportunities for Virginia families, and I’m proud to support the continued growth of the manufacturing industry in the Commonwealth.”

Secretary of Commerce and Trade Juan Pablo Segura emphasized the collaborative effort behind this expansion: “This latest investment reflects the kind of partnership we strive for in the Commonwealth—where businesses, local leaders, and the community work together to create lasting opportunity.”

ASC’s CEO Margaret Shaia expressed pride in their ongoing partnership with Virginia and highlighted plans for leadership development and skills training as part of this expansion. “Our employees are the foundation of what ASC values, and we remain focused on providing further opportunities for their success,” she stated.

Founded in 1994, ASC specializes in power integration solutions for data centers, offering various products such as sound-attenuated enclosures. The company employs skilled workers including certified welders and licensed electricians.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership collaborated with several local entities on this project. Governor Youngkin approved a $1.75 million grant from the Commonwealth’s Opportunity Fund to assist with this initiative. Additional support came from local grants provided by the City of Virginia Beach.

Mayor Bobby Dyer noted that ASC’s growth would strengthen Virginia Beach’s status as an advanced manufacturing hub. “Their continued growth will make them one of our city’s major employers,” he said.

Hampton Roads Alliance President & CEO Douglas L. Smith added that this investment highlights the region’s strong manufacturing sector.

Senator Christie Craig congratulated ASC on their commitment to Virginia Beach, while Delegate Barry D. Knight praised the quality workforce and infrastructure supporting business expansions like ASC’s.

The Virginia Talent Accelerator Program will support job creation through customized recruitment and training services at no cost to qualifying companies.
