Birmingham Green ranked as top-capacity nursing home in Manassas City County in Q1 2026

During the first quarter of 2026, Birmingham Green was recognized as the nursing home with the highest bed capacity in Manassas City County, based on data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

The facility offered 180 beds, exceeding the Manassas City County average by 30 beds during that timeframe. An average of 164.1 residents were served at Birmingham Green over the period.

Birmingham Green received a top overall rating of 5 from the CMS, surpassing the statewide nursing home average of 3 in Virginia.

Manassas Health and Rehab Center held the position of the second largest facility in Manassas City County for the quarter, operating with 120 beds.

Birmingham Green reported zero fines or penalties during the first quarter of 2026.

U.S. Census Bureau estimates indicate the nation’s older adult population is increasing while younger populations are in decline. “Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, an insurance education group. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
