Building Safety Month, established by the International Code Council, reaches its 45th anniversary in May 2025. The campaign, themed “Game On!”, aims to enhance building safety awareness through various weekly topics.

Each week will spotlight different facets of constructing secure and sustainable buildings, highlighting the importance of adopting modern building codes. The weekly themes, designed to engage a broad audience, include: The Warm Up; Build Your Offense; Build Your Defense; The Starting Line Up; and Going Into Overtime. These topics will offer insights and practical advice that reflect the crucial role of skilled professionals in maintaining building safety year-round.

Individuals are invited to participate by accessing Building Safety resources available at libraries such as Bull Run, Chinn Park, Haymarket Gainesville, and Montclair during May.

To raise awareness, people are encouraged to use hashtags #BuildingSafetyMonth2025 and #BuildingSafety365 on social media to foster a culture of safety and sustainability in communities.
