The West Virginia Mountaineers emerged with a 7-4 victory over the Arizona Wildcats in their NCAA Division I baseball game Tuesday, March 31, at 7 p.m., with former Battlefield High School player Carson Estridge making an impact for his current team.

The matchup was held at Hi Corbett Field and marked the teams’ first meeting this season.

Estridge threw for 2.1 innings, limiting Arizona to one earned run and tallying five strikeouts.

The Mountaineers are set to face the UCF Knights next, with the game scheduled for Friday, April 3, at the Monongalia County Baseball Complex.
