Chinn Park Library will close for renovations starting November 26, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., with plans to reopen in summer 2026. The renovation is a joint effort between Prince William Public Libraries (PWPL) and the Prince William County Department of Economic Development and Tourism (PWCDEDT). The project aims to add new spaces and resources tailored to small businesses and entrepreneurs in the Prince William community.

During the closure, library services will continue at a temporary location inside the Administrative Support Center’s Trustee Conference Room on the lower level of Chinn Park Library. This space will open to the public from January 20, 2026, operating Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., providing access to books, computers, Wi-Fi, and other services.

Patrons can pick up their holds at Chinn Park Library until November 23. From November 24 through January 18, holds will be available at Lake Ridge Library. Starting January 20, hold pickups will move to the temporary Chinn Park ASC Library during its operating hours. Book returns can be made at any of PWPL’s other branches or three off-site book drops once the main Book Drop closes on November 26.

When renovations are complete, Chinn Park Library will introduce several updated features. These include three small study rooms, a quiet study area, an expanded Management and Government Information Center (MAGIC) designed for business owners and nonprofits, and PWPL’s third makerspace—joining those at Bull Run and Central Libraries—with equipment aimed at supporting local businesses.

A new small business resource center led by PWCDEDT will also open within the library as part of its ongoing efforts to support small business education in the county.

“We’re committed to providing access to our libraries, even while enhancing our spaces,” comments Jennifer Patterson, Prince William Public Libraries director. “The short-term solution of having a smaller library space available during the renovation ensures the public can still browse for new books, research job opportunities on our computers, and enjoy our inviting spaces.”

PWPL operates twelve branches throughout Prince William County and Manassas City that offer free access to physical and digital materials as well as educational programs for all ages.
