Led by former Battlefield High School athlete Ryan Derderian, the Christopher Newport Captains edged out a 59-57 win over the Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets in the NCAA Division III Basketball Tournament on Friday, March 13.
The matchup tipped off at 7 p.m. at Crenshaw Gymnasium and marked the Captains’ first tournament game against the Yellow Jackets.
Christopher Newport’s next game is scheduled for Thursday, March 19 at 1 p.m. at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
