The Manassas Park City Library (MPCL) is moving to the newly redeveloped Park Central in the heart of Manassas Park. After successfully serving as a transitional space since 2020, the Blooms Park library location will close permanently on June 18, 2022.

During the transition, library services will be available via pop-up programs and events. Visit manassasparkcitylibrary.org for more information.

Conveniently co-located with City Hall and the Jirani Coffeehouse, the new Park Central Library location will be the community’s most exciting destination for learning, discovering, creating and connecting.

MPCL is a vibrant public library tailored to the needs of Virginia’s youngest and most on-the-move city. A truly local resource, the new Park Central Library makes Manassas Park an even better place to live, work and thrive.

“The new Park Central Library will be one of the most important elements of our new downtown (Park Central). It will not only serve our community with full library services, but will become a destination place for our downtown along with the co-located new Jirani Coffehouse (to open in 2023), our new plaza with splashpad, and the future CinemaCafe (to open in 2024) across the street. The City Government has been planning for this day for a long time and are happy to finally see our dream becoming a reality. We hope our residents will enjoy the experience!” Said City Manager, Laszlo Palko.

Park Central Library is an incredible new resource for our community. We are very excited to see this vision become a reality and to offer a library tailored to the needs of Manassas Park. If you haven’t been to a modern library recently, you will be surprised to see what our new library has to offer so be sure to visit.

“The new library has something to offer for everyone. From interactive learning stations for children to STEAM programming to private group study spaces, there are so many resources for our community to use. We look forward to serving and connecting with more community members and sharing our expanded collections, programs and services.” said Library Director Holly Ritchie, “If you are interested in becoming part of the MPCL Friends of the Library, please contact me.”

MPCL provides books, digital books and audiobooks and programs for education and enrichment. The Library also provides technology access with public computers, laptops and Wi-Fi throughout the building. Serving the City’s youngest residents to seniors and everyone in between, the Library offers programs designed for Manassas Park, including story times, computer courses, education for teens and homeschoolers and a variety of adult offerings.
