Delegate Ian Lovejoy, a member of the Virginia House of Delegates, shared several updates on September 3, 2025, highlighting legislative efforts and campaign activities.

In a post made at 11:01 a.m., Lovejoy discussed his support for legislation aimed at protecting student-athletes from extreme heat. He wrote, “When it’s hot outside, no student should have to choose between competing in the sport they love and their health. I was proud to support HB1663, which provides guidelines for public schools on extreme heat and protections for student-athletes. Safer practices. Safer games.” (September 3, 2025).

Later that day at 2:31 p.m., Lovejoy acknowledged the efforts of his supporters in meeting campaign outreach goals. He stated, “Thanks to YOU we not only met our August door knock/contact goals, but exceeded them! Let’s keep the energy going- join me this Saturday!” (September 3, 2025).

In an additional update posted at 6:45 p.m., Lovejoy expressed gratitude toward campaign volunteers and encouraged further participation. He wrote, “Campaigns are built by neighbors helping neighbors. Thank you to our volunteers who have helped us knock doors, make calls, or put up signs.  If you’ve got an hour this week, we’ve got a role for you:” (September 3, 2025).

HB1663 is legislation designed to establish protocols in Virginia public schools to address extreme heat during athletic activities and ensure safety measures for students participating in sports.

Lovejoy’s posts reflect both his legislative priorities regarding student safety and ongoing grassroots efforts as part of his political campaign.
