Delegate Ian Lovejoy, a member of the Virginia House of Delegates, used his social media platform to share information and express support on several community matters in late July 2025.

On July 30, 2025, Lovejoy posted an offer for campaign materials: “Who doesn’t like free stuff? Contact my team to get your FREE yard sign!” The post invited constituents to reach out for complimentary yard signs.

Later that day, Lovejoy issued a public service announcement regarding Virginia’s upcoming tax-free holiday. He wrote on July 30, 2025: “PSA for parents, teachers, and anyone who’s ever had to buy 47 glue sticks: Virginia’s tax-free holiday is THIS WEEKEND!  Shop tax-free on things like: clothes and footwear emergency preparedness items like generators school supplies under $20 per item and https://t.co/RB096zNhsP” This message aimed to inform residents about the opportunity to purchase certain goods without paying state sales tax during the designated weekend.

The following morning, on July 31, 2025, Lovejoy commented on a violent incident involving Lee Vogler. He stated: “The horrible attack on Lee Vogler has no place in our society. My prayers are with him for a speedy recovery.”

Delegate Ian Lovejoy represents part of Prince William County in the Virginia House of Delegates. Tax-free holidays in Virginia typically allow consumers to purchase specific items such as school supplies and emergency preparedness equipment without paying state sales tax for a limited period each year. These events are intended to provide financial relief ahead of the school year and encourage disaster readiness among residents.
