Today, Governor Glenn Youngkin announced the launch of VirginiaHasJobs.com/AI, a new online AI Career Launch Pad designed to help Virginians explore and connect with opportunities in artificial intelligence and technology. The platform is developed by Virginia Works in partnership with Google’s Grow with Google program.
The website offers no-cost and low-cost learning resources, including beginner courses on AI fundamentals and practical applications. Additionally, bootcamps and degree programs are available through Virginia’s community colleges and universities. Scholarships for Career Certificates will be provided by Virginia Works to assist Virginians in accessing high-demand career training.
Governor Youngkin stated, “AI is increasingly part of every aspect of work, and we’re excited to launch this opportunity for Virginians to take part in this future.” He added that the initiative aims to position Virginia as a leader in AI careers and training.
Residents can visit the site to apply for scholarships and enroll in eligible programs. Scholarships cover Google AI Essentials Courses focusing on foundational skills and best practices, as well as Google Career Certificates offering job-ready training in fields like cybersecurity, data analytics, and project management.

Secretary of Labor Bryan Slater highlighted the growing demand for AI-related roles: “Virginia has also experienced a surge in AI-related job postings – with approximately 31,000 listings.”
Secretary of Education Aimee Guidera noted that Virginia is leading nationally in education standards related to AI: “We are preparing students to be ethical users, innovative designers, and critical thinkers.”
