Six inmates at Wallens Ridge State Prison have been indicted on a total of sixty-six felony criminal charges after an attack on three Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) officers earlier this year. The indictments were announced by Attorney General Jason Miyares and Wise County and City of Norton Commonwealth’s Attorney Brett Hall.

The incident occurred on May 2, 2025, when six gang-affiliated inmates attacked three correctional officers. Two officers were stabbed multiple times, while another officer was assaulted during the attack.

Following investigations into the incident, a Grand Jury returned multiple indictments against the six inmates. A full list of charges has been made available.
