Delegate Ian Lovejoy, a Republican elected to the Virginia State House in 2024 representing the state’s 22nd House district, recently shared several posts on his Twitter account reflecting on the new year and expressing his views on political alignment.

On January 1, 2026, Lovejoy extended well wishes to his followers, stating “Wishing you all a joyous and prosperous New Year! https://t.co/36IBUDmh99”.

The following day, January 2, he posted another message: “Happy collective warmth to all who celebrate.”

On January 3, Lovejoy commented on his political orientation with respect to the Mayor of New York: “My true north is the opposite of whatever the Mayor of New York believes above any given topic.”

Lovejoy assumed office after winning election in 2024, succeeding Kathy Byron as representative for Virginia’s 22nd House district.
