Ian T. Lovejoy, a Republican elected to the Virginia State House in 2024 to represent the state’s 22nd House district, has recently posted several statements on his Twitter account addressing political developments in Virginia and neighboring states.

On April 14, 2026, Lovejoy commented on redistricting practices by comparing two states: “Terrifying that Maryland is more honorable about redistricting than Virginia.”

Later that same day, he responded to engagement on social media with a remark about political participation in Shenandoah: “You cared enough to comment…so that brings the total of who cares to at least, what… 6? The entirety of Democrats in Shenandoah.”

On April 15, 2026, Lovejoy referenced polling data regarding Virginia Governor Spanberger’s popularity: “New poll showing ‘Spanberger as the most historically unpopular Governor at this point in the most recent Virginia Governors’ terms.’ Redistricting and a legislative agenda focusing on far more than affordability takes its toll.”

Lovejoy succeeded Kathy Byron as state representative after his election in 2024.
