Jeannie LaCroix was ceremoniously sworn in on March 18 to represent the Woodbridge Magisterial District on the Prince William Board of County Supervisors. The oath of office was administered by Clerk of the Circuit Court Jacqueline C. Smith.

LaCroix said she is honored to take her seat and looks forward to working with her colleagues. “It’s all working together,” LaCroix said. “When we work together as a team, we can go forward.”

She also shared her hopes for her time on the Board, saying, “I want to make a difference in the time that I have in Woodbridge, in Prince William County and on this Board. And if you walk away going, ‘You know what, she didn’t agree with me, but she really does care about me, and she cares about us, she cares about the community,’ then I’m going to have done a good job.”

Prince William County Chair At-Large Deshundra Jefferson welcomed LaCroix’s leadership and perspective. “We’re in the crossroads in our community, and it’s great to have fresh eyes and fresh perspectives,” Jefferson said. “There is so much work for us to do together, and that is my hope for you, even though you are walking into a Board that has largely been working together, you bring a valuable voice and a valuable perspective.”

LaCroix has lived in Northern Virginia for more than ten years and previously owned a court reporting firm for over three decades. She now works as a local realtor and has served on the Animal Advisory Committee, led her neighborhood’s social committee, and established a Neighborhood Watch program.

LaCroix was elected during a special election held on March 10 to fill the seat vacated by Margaret Angela Franklin after Franklin was elected to the Virginia General Assembly earlier this year.
