On January 23, 2026, the Town of Occoquan announced that snow emergency routes will be in effect starting at 9 p.m. on January 24 due to an expected winter storm. The measures are being put in place to support snow-clearing operations as snow accumulation is forecasted for the region from Saturday evening through Monday, January 26.

During this period, on-street parking—including marked spaces—will not be allowed on designated snow emergency routes. These routes include Mill Street, Commerce Street, Union Street, Washington Street, and Ellicott Street.

The town stated: “AS A RESULT, ON-STREET PARKING, INCLUDING PARKING IN MARKED ON-STREET PARKING SPACES, WILL NOT BE PERMITTED ON DESIGNATED SNOW EMERGENCY ROUTES, INCLUDING:

MILL STREET

COMMERCE STREET

UNION STREET

WASHINGTON STREET

ELLICOTT STREET”

Residents are advised to park vehicles off street beginning Saturday. The announcement also noted: “TIMED PARKING WILL NOT BE ENFORCED WHILE SNOW EMERGENCY ROUTES REMAIN IN EFFECT. PARKING IS AVAILABLE IN TOWN OWNED LOTS AT COMMERCE/ELLICOTT, MILL/POPLAR, AND UNDER THE 123 BRIDGE.”

Towing will be enforced for vehicles parked on snow emergency routes while these restrictions are active.
