Brianne was suffering from a deviated septum, which caused her to experience sleep apnea and various health issues. In an interview with Business Daily, she shared her experiences of going for a septoplasty procedure at Capitol Breath Free’s office in Woodbridge.
“The procedure was minimally invasive, and I didn’t have to go under anesthesia,” Brianne told Business Daily. “The process was quick and painless.”
According to the Mayo Clinic, septoplasty is a procedure designed to correct the misalignment of the bone and cartilage that separates the nasal passages, commonly known as the septum. Patients who suffer from a deviated septum like Brianne can experience difficulties breathing and sleeping, leading to an overall lower quality of life. The procedure serves to improve breathing and alleviate symptoms stemming from a deviated septum.
Grappling with a deviated septum throughout her life, Brianne struggled to get enough oxygen through the nose. She was diagnosed with sleep apnea, which exacerbated the symptoms of her fibromyalgia. “It often felt like I hadn’t slept at all,” Brianne said.
Brianne said that Capitol Breath Free’s Woodbridge office was located in a “quiet area, which contributed to a calming environment and helped to alleviate the stress.” She appreciated that the office featured an automated door for easy access and a welcoming reception area. Staff members gave her a step-by-step overview of the process and used a camera connected to a smart TV to give her a comprehensive view of the procedure.
The scans, diagnosis and procedure were all done in the office. Brianne didn’t need to go to a hospital, and there was no need for anesthesia.
Before the procedure, Brianne said that she was mostly breathing through her mouth, which can affect your health. “Breathing through the mouth causes dryness, enabling more bacteria to enter due to the reduced moisture and inadequate saliva to protect your enamel and gums,” Brianne said. After her septoplasty procedure, Brianne says that she noticed an increase in her energy levels and that her memory had improved. Post-surgery recovery only required sinus rinses and an ointment to address scarring.
