Prince William County will host the “Juneteenth & Me Festival” on June 19, 2025, at Pfitzner Stadium in Woodbridge. The event is scheduled from 4 to 9 p.m. and is open to residents and visitors. It aims to offer an evening of performances, education, and empowerment while celebrating Black culture, history, and community connection.
“This festival is about more than celebration, it’s about connection,” said Maria Burgos, Prince William County’s Equity and Inclusion Officer. “Juneteenth gives us the opportunity to reflect, to honor Black history, and to elevate the many voices, traditions, and experiences that shape Prince William County.”
The festival will begin with a grand procession led by an African dance troupe and high school drummers. This will be followed by inspirational speakers and live musical performances from local talent as well as sets by local DJs. Notable performers include Chocolate Factory and The Chuck Brown Band. The evening will conclude with a fireworks display.
Event highlights include live music and cultural performances that showcase the diversity of Black heritage. There will also be food vendors offering authentic cuisines, arts and crafts activities for all ages from 4 to 6 p.m., workshops on financial empowerment, health and wellness, Black history among other topics, as well as interactive booths from county departments promoting health and economic wellness.
Over 40 vendors and community partners are expected to participate in offering resources, services, and interactive experiences at the festival. Attendance is free for the public. Opportunities are available for those interested in volunteering or participating as vendors or sponsors.
