Prince William County is offering a range of activities and events throughout September, providing residents with options for recreation, entertainment, and community engagement as summer ends.
Line dancing classes will begin on Saturday, September 6 at the Dale City Recreation Center. This six-week program invites participants to learn line dance moves in a group setting.
On Sunday, September 7, the Neabsco Creek Boardwalk will host Harvest Moon Yoga. Attendees can take part in a flow yoga practice under the full Corn Moon, with live acoustic guitar at the start and sound bowl meditation to close the session. Organizers advise arriving early due to a 30-minute walk from parking to the event location.
Pickleball lessons are scheduled to start on September 8 at Veterans Memorial Park. These classes cater to all skill levels and provide instruction on basic strokes and game rules. Equipment is provided but participants must bring tennis shoes.
A free outdoor concert series called Fridays at 5 is set for Friday, September 12. The Deloreans, an ’80s tribute band known for recreating classic hits from that era, will perform.

Arts Alive! returns on Sunday, September 14 from noon to 5 pm at Hylton Performing Arts Center. This annual festival is produced by Prince William County Arts Council in collaboration with the Department of Parks and Recreation and Hylton Performing Arts Center. It features performances by local artists and arts council members: “Arts Alive! is Prince William County’s free, family-friendly community arts festival featuring art, dance, music and more! The free event…is produced jointly by the Prince William County Arts Council, the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Hylton Performing Arts Center.”
Family archery classes are available throughout September and October at various locations for $35 per person. Certified instructors lead sessions focusing on safety protocols as well as form.
The inaugural Teens on the Right Steps Celebration takes place Saturday, September 20 at Cloverdale Park from noon to 4 pm in partnership with Prince William Youth Services. Aimed at middle- and high-school students, this free event offers food along with performances and competitions such as axe throwing and flag football.
Let’s Go Skate Day is planned for Tuesday, September 23 at Scott D. Eagles Skate Park in Veterans Memorial Park. Skaters of all abilities can participate in instructional sessions led by experienced instructors along with games and contests focused on skateboarding skills.
Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre hosts Brentsville Bluegrass Festival on Saturday, September 27 featuring bluegrass music performances along with historic site exploration opportunities; admission is free but donations are accepted.
