It has been a busy summer for Prince William County Parks and Recreation as improvements continue at various parks and facilities. The focus is on enhancing accessibility, replacing old equipment, and refreshing park spaces.

Nokesville Park is undergoing construction for a new playground, with equipment installation scheduled soon. The playground is expected to be completed by mid-September. Diamond field enhancements are also planned to expand play opportunities. Additionally, the access road to the park has been freshly paved.

At Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center, several improvements are underway. These include accessibility upgrades behind the recreation center, renovation of batting cages and picnic shelters, and field upgrades.

Joseph D. Reading Park is seeing phase one of its accessibility improvements nearing completion. This phase includes ADA-compliant walkways leading to sports courts, renovated basketball, tennis, and pickleball courts, fencing, and furniture. Phase two will focus on restroom improvements.

Prince William County Parks’ leaders recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Forest Greens Golf Club on July 22 to celebrate renovations there. The clubhouse now features modern signage at the entrance along with updates to the lobby area including the fireplace; grill room; restrooms; pro shop; and new furniture was added as part of the renovation.
