Prince William County will hold a remembrance ceremony on September 11 to honor those who died during the attacks in 2001. The event, hosted by the Board of County Supervisors, is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. at the 9/11 Liberty Memorial Fountain located at 1 County Complex Ct, Woodbridge, Virginia.

The program will include several ceremonial elements such as the Presentation of Colors and the National Anthem, followed by the Tolling of the Bell. Chair At-Large Deshundra Jefferson and County Executive Christopher Shorter are expected to deliver remarks during the ceremony. Organizers will also read aloud the names of Prince William County residents who lost their lives that day. The event will end with taps.

Community members are invited to attend in remembrance of both the county’s 22 residents and nearly 3,000 others who were killed in the attacks.
