Fifteen new law enforcement officers graduated from the Prince William County Criminal Justice Academy Basic Law Enforcement 61st Session on September 24, 2025. The ceremony took place at Grace Life Community Church in Bristow. The graduating class included 14 officers who will join the Prince William County Police Department and one deputy assigned to the Sheriff’s Office.
The recruits completed a 24-week training program that covered firearms, use-of-force decision making, driver training, legal education, patrol techniques, criminal investigation, and crash investigation.
Among the graduates is Brandon M. Angeloff, who previously served with the department from 2005 to 2016 and is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Makayla M. Barton and Wesley D. Buchanan are both graduates of Laurel Ridge Community College; Buchanan served as Class President for this session. Other graduates include individuals with backgrounds in criminology, business communication, social sciences, computer science, and criminal justice from various educational institutions.
Several of the new officers have prior experience as police cadets or family connections to law enforcement. Assignments for these graduates cover western, central, and eastern areas of Prince William County.
As demand for skilled law enforcement professionals grows in the region, the department continues its recruitment efforts for qualified candidates interested in police work.
