Development Services Building Development Division is adapting to customer needs by offering a Virtual Appointment Scheduling System. This new system allows customers to book time with county experts for commercial project support at their convenience.
Mandi Spina, Director of the Department of Development Services, highlighted the broad impact on the commercial real estate and building industry: “The impact on the commercial real estate and building industry is wide reaching, providing access to a broader customer base, including those who may not be local.”
The Online Early Assistance service caters to customers exploring property research or seeking help with specific commercial development projects. Available research includes address verification, historical use groups, occupancy certificates, construction types, code year of original construction, and base building data.
This initiative aims to simplify complexities in commercial projects by clarifying construction regulations. It helps avoid costly errors through guidance from certified professionals.
Virtual appointments must be booked in advance and are available every Tuesday and Thursday in 50-minute slots from 9:00 am to 3:50 pm. Customers can book up to two appointments per week. More information is available at pwcva.gov/virtualappointments or by contacting the division directly.
