Registration is now open for the 2026 Polar Plunge, an annual event supporting Special Olympics Virginia. The event will take place at Leesylvania State Park in Woodbridge on Saturday, February 14, 2026.

The Prince William County Police Department is encouraging individuals and groups to participate by braving cold temperatures both on land and in the water to raise funds for Special Olympics. Participants can join as individuals or form teams with friends, family, or colleagues. There is also an option to donate directly without taking part in the plunge.

The event will feature live music, games, door prizes, food trucks, law enforcement displays, a costume contest, and a group plunge into the Potomac River.

“The Polar Plunge benefits Special Olympics, an organization which is supported by law enforcement officers throughout the United States and in 45 countries,” according to organizers.
