The Prince William County Police Department has expressed appreciation to the community for its support during the 2026 Polar Plunge, an event held to raise funds for Special Olympics Virginia. The event took place on February 14 at Leesylvania State Park in Woodbridge.

This year’s Polar Plunge raised $95,000 to benefit athletes with Special Olympics Virginia. The police department acknowledged not only those who participated as part of Polar Plunge teams but also the sponsors and vendors who contributed to the event.

“Team PWCPD would also like to thank all the Department members and County residents who donated to the Polar Plunge,” said a statement from the department.

Funds collected through the Polar Plunge will support Special Olympics, an organization that receives backing from law enforcement agencies across the United States and in 45 other countries.
