The Prince William County Human Resources Office announced on May 4 that it will hold its Spring Career Expo for job seekers to meet hiring managers, learn about county employment, and get prequalified for current and future job openings.

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hylton Performing Arts Center. The expo is free and open to anyone interested in public service careers with the county. Organizers say the event will highlight available services and showcase a range of career opportunities within local government.

More than 50 hiring managers, employees, and human resources staff are expected to be present to answer questions about various roles across county departments. Attendees may participate in on-site screenings and receive guidance on navigating the county’s hiring process. Several departments plan presentations throughout the day focusing on services provided by the county and potential career paths.

Adreanne Simms, human resources manager of talent acquisition, said: “This is the county’s way of engaging and supporting the community. Our expos have led to interviews and job offers, helping individuals take meaningful steps toward careers in public service.”

Tavian Anderson attended a previous Prince William County Career Expo in fall 2025 before starting work as a telecommunicator with the county at age eighteen. Anderson said: “The Expo played an important role in helping me start my career with the county. I did not have prior experience in this field, but the county representatives took the time to provide me with helpful information and guidance on how to move forward. As a result of that experience, I was able to secure a position as a telecommunicator at 18 years old, where I now have the opportunity to serve and support the community I was born and raised in.”

Organizers say that employment with Prince William County offers careers with purpose, competitive pay including bonuses for high-demand fields, strong benefits packages for employees and their families, as well as continuous learning opportunities.

Representatives from organizations such as Prince William Society for Human Resource Management, Virginia Career Works, and Prince William County Department of Social Services will also be present at the expo offering resume guidance and career coaching. A pre-event webinar is planned for Thursday, May 7.

Further details about attending or preparing for this event can be found at pwcva.gov/career-expo.
