PWCGOP, the Prince William County Republican Committee, used its social media platform in mid-March 2026 to urge followers to oppose a measure it describes as a “gerrymandering power grab” by Virginia Democrats.
On March 14, PWCGOP posted a message encouraging action: “VOTE NO We need your help, please visit: https://t.co/v5DIfM4vQi https://t.co/cZ2dlVHboQ”. The following day, on March 15, the committee shared another post containing only a link: “https://t.co/iNe0PBxyay”.
Later that same day, PWCGOP issued a more direct statement regarding their opposition to actions by Virginia Democrats. The tweet read: “Virginia Democrats’ corrupt gerrymandering power grab is bad for democracy and bad for our Commonwealth. VOTE NO! https://t.co/LAXzhU8YxT” (March 15).
The Prince William County Republican Committee is an official local branch of the Republican Party in Virginia. Gerrymandering refers to the manipulation of electoral district boundaries for political advantage. In recent years, debates over redistricting and accusations of partisan gerrymandering have been prominent in Virginia politics.
