Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) has announced the appointment of Brooke LeVecchi as the principal of Woodbridge Area Elementary School, set to open for the 2026-27 school year. Her appointment will be effective from January 5, 2026.
According to a news release by PWCS, LeVecchi brings over two decades of experience in education, having served in various roles such as principal, assistant principal, administrative intern, instructional technology coach, and teacher. Her career demonstrates a strong focus on instructional leadership and student-centered learning. Since July 2023, she has been the principal of Neabsco Elementary School, where her extensive background has contributed to building inclusive and academically robust school communities.
During her time at Neabsco Elementary, LeVecchi oversaw significant improvements in student achievement. These included higher Standards of Learning (SOL) assessment scores across multiple subjects, increased advanced math SOL pass rates, and notable growth among English learner students. Her leadership focused on academic excellence and data-driven strategies to support all learners.
LeVecchi also led several major school initiatives at Neabsco Elementary. These included the All In Tutoring program, the implementation of Franklin Covey’s Leader in Me program, and the “House System: Five Houses, One Home.” She organized more than ten family engagement events aimed at enhancing school climate and community involvement. LeVecchi holds a master’s degree in new professional studies and a certificate in education leadership and supervision from George Mason University, along with a Bachelor of Arts in education from Fairmont State University.
PWCS is noted as the second-largest school division in Virginia and ranks 32nd largest nationwide. It serves over 90,000 students across various educational levels including elementary through high school as well as preschool and specialty programs. The division offers academic specialty programs such as two Governor’s Schools, dual enrollment options, Advanced Placement courses, Cambridge Programme courses, International Baccalaureate courses, career and technology certifications, robotics programs, and instruction in ten world languages. Emphasizing sustainability and family engagement with support for 174 languages spoken within its community, PWCS maintains partnerships with businesses and community organizations. Under the leadership of Superintendent Dr. LaTanya D. McDade, PWCS reports a 94.3% on-time graduation rate with over $123 million awarded in scholarships for the class of 2024. The division is governed by an eight-member elected School Board.
