Northern Virginia Chamber, NBC4/Telemundo44 to Host Virginia Gubernatorial Debate on September 28

Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Sept. 24

The Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce will host the Northern Virginia Gubernatorial debate between Terry McAuliffe (Democrat) and Glenn Youngkin (Republican) on September 28, 2021. The debate is presented in partnership with NBC4 Washington, Telemundo 44, Northern Virginia Community College, Capital One, and George Mason University's Schar School of Policy and Government. It will be held in person from 5:30-8:00 p.m. at the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center Northern Virginia Community College - Alexandria Campus and will air live on NBC4. It will be broadcasted on NBC affiliates statewide live beginning at 7:00 p.m.

“Hosting the premier debate in Virginia politics is a tradition I am incredibly proud to continue,” said Chamber President & CEO Julie Coons. “This year our debate takes on new importance, being one of only two debates between Mr. McAuliffe and Mr. Youngkin. I look forward to hearing from both candidates how they plan to move Virginia forward.”

NBC News political director and moderator of Meet The Press Chuck Todd will moderate the debate, which will focus on the critical issues facing Virginia voters. News4 Northern Virginia Bureau Chief Julie Carey and Telemundo 44 reporter Alberto Pimienta will pose questions to the candidates.
