All Saints Catholic Church recently issued the following announcement.
In preparation for the 2023 Synod of Bishops in Rome, Pope Francis has asked every local Church to undertake their own synodal phase of prayerful listening, dialogue, and discernment, on how the Church is journeying together and fulfilling our mission in the world. Bishop Burbidge has asked all our parishes and other local institutions to host synodal Listening Sessions, and every person may participate. We invite those in All Saints Parish and St. Gabriel Mission to
come to one of our Listening Sessions:
- Tuesday, February 22, 7:00-8:30 PM, in the Parish Activities Center (English)
- Thursday, March 10, 7:00–8:30 PM, in the Parish Activities Center (Spanish)
The fundamental question to be considered is this:
A synodal Church, in announcing the Gospel, “journeys together,” by proclaiming, celebrating, and living the Gospel as we make our way to the Promised Land of Heaven. How is this “journeying together” happening today in your local Church? What steps does the Spirit invite us to take to grow in “journeying together”?
Through the synodal process, the people of the Diocese of Arlington, along with the whole Church throughout the world, will grow in deepening our commitment to proclaiming, celebrating, and living the Gospel.
