Just like patients, physicians also need care.
Patients look to find providers who listen to medical needs, ask questions and build a treatment plan based on honesty, collaboration and clinical expertise. Despite the challenges presented the past few years with the COVID-19 pandemic, physicians continue to focus on patient needs and provide exceptional care.
By making our physicians’ well-being a priority and offering them emotional and spiritual services, we are both supporting them and ensuring quality care for all patients.
Medicus Integra Award
Our ministry is dedicated to helping those who care for the community’s health, and these efforts were recently recognized by the Coalition for Physician Well-Being. This group surveys organizations to see how they care for physicians. We’re proud to share that our Bon Secours’ physician well-being programs have been acknowledged with the coalition’s Medicus Integra Award.
The “medicus integra” term is meant to describe physicians whose lives are whole, complete and characterized by balance, purpose and meaning. Thus, health institutions that best display a dedication to and passion for physician well-being are honored with this award.
Caring for our physicians
At Bon Secours, we support our physicians by providing specific services to care for their needs, including in their faith and mental health.
Professional counseling is available to support physician emotional well-being and our chaplains are encouraged to be available in each hospital. Multiple chaplains with different faith backgrounds offer various services daily, such as private prayer, small group sessions and more traditional services.
By providing emotional and spiritual services for our doctors, Bon Secours is ensuring that each of our physicians feels supported and valued as they fulfill our Mission by providing exception care to you and your family.
