Patriots Drop Season Finale to George Washington
The George Mason men's soccer team played its final match of the season, falling to George Washington, 3-0, on Saturday night at George Mason Stadium.
Mason seniors Ariel Aguas, Jonathan Fawole and Kent Harrison were recognized prior to the match.
Mason (2-11-2, 1-6-1 A-10) fell behind George Washington (8-8-2, 4-4-0 A-10) in the 25th minute.
Senior midfielder Elias Norris found the upper-right corner for his team-leading seventh goal of the season to put the Colonials in front, 1-0.
The Colonials added to the lead in the first minute of the second half when junior defender Lucas Matuszewski netted his second goal of the season to make it 2-0.
In the 53rd minute, Colonials graduate student midfielder Oscar Haynes Brown scored his seventh goal of the year, tying for the team lead, to increase the advantage to 3-0.
Mason senior goalkeeper Jake Langley (2-11-2, 1-6-1 A-10) made six saves, while Colonials senior goalkeeper Justin Grady did not face a shot on goal in the match.

26' | Norris cut into the penalty area on the left side and scored into the upper right corner from 16 yards out.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
The Colonials recorded 11 shots in the second half and outshot the Patriots in the match, 15-5, including a 9-0 advantage in shots on goal. George Washington finished with seven corner kicks while Mason had two corner kicks in the match.
Junior defender Noah McGrath, sophomore defender Ahmed Mohamed, freshman midfielder Nicholas Prioli and Aguas each played 90 minutes. Harrison led the Patriots with two shots in the match.
