Two Sentara Healthcare hospital executives will co-chair the American Heart Association’s Heart & Stroke Ball in 2023.
Liisa Ortegon, President of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, and Terrie Edwards, Southside Region President, will also co-lead Heart of Hampton Roads, an initiative to improve health equity and prevent heart attacks and strokes.
The annual event honors survivors, volunteers and patrons of the American Heart Association - Virginia. The evening will feature stories from survivors, dinner, dancing, and an auction.
The Heart of Hampton Roads initiative raises funds to support regional priorities including food security, blood pressure, risks for women, tobacco & vaping and hands-only CPR. The AHA’s Hampton Roads board also supports the Association’s 2024 Health Equity Impact Goal of reducing barriers to healthcare access.
