Rep. Abigail Spanberger, serving in the U.S. Congress representing Virginia's 7th District since 2019, recently shared insights on her legislative efforts and community engagements through a series of tweets. Spanberger, born in Red Bank, New Jersey in 1979 and currently residing in Glen Allen, has been an active advocate for various issues impacting Virginians.

On December 10, 2024, Rep. Spanberger highlighted the importance of organizations like Encompass Community Supports in addressing substance use disorder and mental health crises. She expressed pride in collaborating with such organizations to ensure Virginians have access to necessary recovery resources. "Organizations like Encompass Community Supports are integral to helping tackle the substance use disorder and mental health crises impacting our communities."

The following day, December 11, 2024, she reiterated her commitment to veterans by announcing secured federal funding aimed at improving access from I-95 to the VA’s Fredericksburg Health Care Center. This initiative is intended to enhance healthcare accessibility for Virginia veterans. "In Congress, I've been a steadfast advocate for those who answered the call to serve."

Later that day, Spanberger expressed solidarity with America's firefighters as she advocated for her bipartisan Social Security Fairness Act outside the U.S. Senate despite inclement weather conditions. She thanked Senator Chuck Schumer for his commitment to bring this bill forward before year's end. "Proud to stand in the rain with America’s firefighters to urge my colleagues in the U.S. Senate to pass my bipartisan #SocialSecurityFairnessAct."
