Governor Glenn Youngkin and Attorney General Jason Miyares participated in a ceremony to honor Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel, a young boy battling brain cancer. DJ was appointed as an Honorary State Trooper, Correctional Officer, Probation and Parole Officer, Petersburg Officer, and Henrico County Firefighter.

DJ Daniel, alongside his father Theodis, has traveled across the United States with the goal of being sworn in by 1,000 law enforcement agencies. He has exceeded this target by being sworn into over 1,350 agencies. His journey gained national attention when former President Trump introduced him before he was sworn in as an honorary Secret Service member in March 2025. Additionally, on May 1, 2025, DJ received recognition as an honorary Virginia Sheriff.
