Governor Glenn Youngkin has announced a new round of appointments to several administration positions and state boards in Virginia. The appointments cover a range of sectors, including commerce, trade, labor, agriculture, forestry, education, health and human resources, public safety, and legislative bodies.
The new appointees will serve on various boards such as the Sheep Industry Board, Soybean Board, Virginia Board of Forestry, Opioid Abatement Authority, and the Virginia Cannabis Control Authority Board of Directors. Other boards receiving appointments include the Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission and several educational institutions’ boards of trustees like the Frontier Culture Museum of Virginia and the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation.
Health-related appointments were made to entities such as the Advisory Board on Service and Volunteerism, Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Commission, Board of Counseling, Board of Nursing, Board of Psychology, Board of Veterinary Medicine, Employment Service Organization Steering Committee, Maternal Mortality Review Team, State Board of Social Services, State Health Department Sewage Handling and Disposal Appeal Review Board and the Virginia Health Workforce Development Authority.
Labor sector appointments include roles on the Auctioneers Board; the Board for Barbers and Cosmetology; the Virginia Board for Asbestos, Lead and Home Inspectors; as well as the Virginia Board for Workforce Development.
Additional legislative appointments were made to the Small Business Commission. In public safety and homeland security areas new members have joined the Criminal Justice Services Board; Scientific Advisory Committee; and Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Program Professional Standards Committee.
