Governor Glenn Youngkin has announced a new round of appointments to various administration positions and state boards in Virginia. The appointments span multiple sectors, including health and human resources, public safety, agriculture, commerce, education, labor, and natural resources.
The Office of the Governor will see new personnel joining the Health and Human Resources and Public Safety and Homeland Security teams. In the area of board appointments, changes are set for bodies such as the Milk Commission under Agriculture and Forestry; the Virginia Gas and Oil Board and Virginia Tourism Authority within Commerce and Trade; as well as several advisory boards focused on diversity, including the Virginia African American Advisory Board, Virginia Asian Advisory Board, and Virginia Council on Women.
Other appointments include members to the Southern Regional Education Board, Board of Dentistry, State Child Fatality Review Team, Task Force for the Identification of the History of Formerly Enslaved African Americans in Virginia, Board for Professional and Occupational Regulation, Virginia Board of Workforce Development, Brown v. Board of Education Scholarship Awards Committee, Litter Control and Recycling Fund Advisory Board, and Criminal Justice Services Board.
