Governor Glenn Youngkin has announced a special election for Virginia’s 11th Congressional District, set to take place on September 9, 2025. This decision follows the passing of Representative Gerald E. Connolly on May 21, 2025.

Governor Youngkin’s office stated, “Governor Glenn Youngkin today issued a writ of election calling a special election in Virginia’s 11th Congressional District for September 9, 2025.”
