City of Manassas Park recently issued the following announcement.
Due to the latest local health district data showing Manassas Park reaching a High Transmission Level, and in accordance with CDC guidance for high transmission communities to recommend mask wearing in public indoor settings, effective Monday, August 30, 2021, all staff, customers and or visitors over the age of 2 will be required to wear a facial covering in all city facilities, unless said individuals have a qualifying health condition preventing them from doing so. This measure is intended to protect staff and residents as well as to reduce the hospitalization rates and mitigate the impact to our local hospital infrastructure.
Staff will reassess this policy in the future should conditions improve. We ask all businesses in our City to adopt this policy as well for their business establishments so that our community does our collective part to alleviate the current burden on our hospitals to manage this latest surge in the Delta Variant of the COVID-19. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
