City of Manassas Park issued the following announcement on Dec.
Due to recent Financial Software issues that have affected some of the first half of the FY22 Real Estate tax bills: some residents may have received bills that are a lower or the same amount that was billed last year, some residents eligible for tax relief did not receive their relief, some residents may have received duplicate bills, and some residents may not yet have received a real estate tax bill.
If you have received a bill that shows a lower or equal tax bill from last year, you may either come in and see the Commissioner of Revenue at City Hall to correct the bill amount and pay it to the Treasurer’s office, or you can wait for June to receive a corrected 2nd half bill that will also include the unpaid amount from your first half bill (a late penalty will not be assessed as the billed amount sent was incorrect). Also, if you are eligible for tax relief (elderly, disabled, veterans, etc.), applied for it, and did not receive it, also please come in to see the Commissioner of the Revenue to check on your status. If you have yet to receive a real estate tax bill or if you received a duplicate bill, please come in and see the Treasurer to correct this issue.
We are working with our Financial Software vendor to fix these problems so that we do not experience these issues for the 2nd half bill in June 2022. We apologize for this error and negative burden this may have had on you and your tax bill. We are working diligently to plan and implement a better financial software solution over the next 2-3 years to avoid such mishaps from happening. For all other questions, please contact 703-335-8835.
