Now Accepting Applications - Restore Retail Grant Program

County of Prince William issued the following announcement on Dec. 31

The Prince William County Department of Economic Development is now accepting applications for the Restore Retail grant. The $6 million grant program aims to cushion the ongoing crunch felt by restaurants, event spaces, and storefront retail businesses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eligible businesses must either own or lease their facility. Grant levels are determined by the size of commercial space, with grants up to $25,000 based on a business’s square footage.

Basic Eligibility Requirements:

  • A physical business address in Prince William County 
  • Open and operating as of December 31, 2020, with a 2021 Prince William County Business License
  • Commercial location under 25,000 contiguous square feet OR standalone entertainment venue with more than 1,100 permanent seats
  • Primary business operations in Arts, Entertainment, Event Venues, Recreation, Child Enrichment, Personal Services, Restaurants/Food Services, Retail
  • Must have experienced financial hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic
Businesses must use Restore Retail grant funds for general operating expenses. Examples include payroll, rent, insurance, or other operating costs; or adaptive costs related to COVID-19, such as purchasing e-commerce equipment, website creation, or upgrade of an online sales site.
