Registrar Announcement: Ordinance Changes (Effective July 11, 2022)

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE BOUNDARY LINES OF VOTING PRECINCT ONE IN THE CITY OF MANASSAS PARK AND TO AMEND SECTION 2-2, VOTING PLACES, OF ARTICLE I, IN GENERAL, OF CHAPTER 2, ADMINISTRATION, OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MANASSAS PARK, VIRGINIA, TO CHANGE THE ADDRESS OF THE VOTING PLACE FOR PRECINCT THREE IN THE CITY

BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Manassas Park that:

  1. The boundaries of voting Precinct One in the City are hereby amended to read as follows:
Precinct One:  All residential addresses within the City generally lying east of the centerline of the Norfolk Southern railroad right-of-way, north of the centerline of Manassas Drive from its intersection with the centerline of the Norfolk Southern railroad right-of-way to its intersection with the centerline of Andrew Drive, west of the centerline of Manassas Drive from its intersection with the centerline of Andrew Drive to its intersection with the eastern curb line of the vehicular entrance to Blooms Park, west of a straight line from the eastern curb line of the vehicular entrance to Blooms Park to the north-easternmost point of Blooms Park at the City’s northern common boundary line with Prince William County, and south of the City’s northern common boundary line with Prince William County.

  1. Section 2-2, Voting places, of Article I, In General, of Chapter 2, Administration, of the Code of the City of Manassas Park, Virginia, is hereby amended by changing the address of the voting place for Precinct Three in the City, as follows:
“Sec. 2-2. – Voting places.

The voting place for Precinct One in the city is the Manassas Park High School, located at 8200 Euclid Avenue.  The voting place for Precinct Two in the city is the Manassas Park Community Center in Costello Park, located at 99 Adams Street.  The voting place for Precinct Three in the city is the Manassas Park City Hall Building, located at 100 Park Central Plaza.

A central absentee voter precinct created for the purpose receiving, counting, and recording absentee ballots cast in the city is located in the Manassas Park City Hall Building.”

  1. All sections of the Code of the City of Manassas Park, Virginia that are inconsistent with and/or in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
  2. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this Ordinance is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions hereof.
  3. This Ordinance shall be effective on Monday, July 11, 2022.
