Police Department Recognizes Member Promotions

On Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022, Police Chief Peter Newsham recognized several department members during a promotion ceremony. Since the last promotion ceremony, 29 sworn and professional staff members listed below have been promoted and were given the opportunity to be recognized by department leadership, their peers, and loved ones at today’s ceremony. The ceremony was held at Grace Life Community Church in Bristow. The Police Department takes great pride in supporting our members who have progressed in their careers and congratulates them on their achievements.

The Police Department would like to recognize the below sworn members and professional staff who were promoted:

Lieutenant

Promoted to the rank of Police Lieutenant: Kimberly Mercer.

First Sergeant

Promoted to the rank of Police First Sergeant: Michael Szalach.

Sergeant

Promoted to the rank of Police Sergeant: Daniel Gray.

Master Police Officer

Promoted to the rank of Master Police Officer: Simon Chu, Matthew Cohen, Edwin Cruz Reyes, Darien Cupka, Daniel Guinn, Steven Hunsberger, Anthony Javid, Randy Johnston, Luke Lambdin, Jennifer Nelson, Kristina Sheldon and Robert Walls.

Professional Staff

Promoted within our Professional Staff: Ryan Olson to Public Safety Manager; Jacob DeBriae to Senior Public Safety Analyst; Joanne Fearnow and Mia Kramer to Senior Public Safety Specialist; Lori Koenigsberg to Public Safety Specialist; Nikki Meadows to Senior Business Services Analyst; Cristina Dizon to Business Services Analyst; Jacqueline Higgs to Human Resources Analyst; Katherine Grover to Police Athletic Trainer; Sonia Pantoja to Administrative Specialist; Kimberly Kerton to Administrative Technician; Norah Beard to Animal Control Field Supervisor; Sarah Snouffer to Animal Control Specialist; and Julie York to Senior School Crossing Guard.
