WOODBRIDGE, Va. — U.S. Representative Abigail Spanberger last night hosted another open, public telephone town hall to discuss the issues facing Virginia families, seniors, small businesses, and Veterans.

During the event, Spanberger and Seventh District community members discussed many of the issues that matter most to Virginians. Topics included expanding broadband internet access for rural communities, safeguarding LGBTQ+ rights, combatting gun violence in our communities, keeping fentanyl off our streets, protecting the benefits of retired federal employees, and more. The Congresswoman also updated Virginians on her vote to pass the Fiscal Responsibility Act and protect Virginia’s economy.

More than 4,400 Virginians joined Thursday night’s event. Click here for a full video recording of the event.

“At a moment when many Virginians have been focused on what’s happening on Capitol Hill, hosting this town hall event was an opportunity for me to hear and address some of the concerns of the people I serve. Speaking with Virginians about the issues that matter most to them helps me reflect their priorities through my work in Congress,” said Spanberger. “Last night, I heard about a wide range of concerns, from safeguarding LGBTQ+ rights to expanding broadband internet access across our rural communities. These conversations make a real difference, and I’m grateful to the thousands of Virginians who took time out of their evening to share their concerns with me.”

Thursday’s event was Spanberger’s 47th open, public town hall event. These town halls have focused on a range of issues facing Virginia’s families, Veterans, seniors, small businesses, students, and healthcare professionals.
