Virginia Students Will Take New Fall Growth Assessments

4

Manassas Park City Schools recently issued the following announcement.

Students in grades 3-8 will be taking a Virginia Growth Assessment (VGA) this fall. State legislation introduced this new testing requirement to help schools measure student growth through the year. This fall’s VGAs will assess content and skills from the previous grade level so schools can identify learning needs early and form plans to address them.

The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) has created a new Growth Assessments Web Page with additional information.

Manassas Park City Schools will administer the Growth Assessments on the following dates:

MPMS

Math VGA: September 21st

Reading VGA: September 22nd

MPES

Reading VGA: September 28th

Math VGA: September 30th
