Golf Releases 2022-23 Tournament Schedule

The George Mason Golf Program released its 2022-23 golf schedule, announced by head coach Greg Pieczynski.

The Patriots will participate in 10 tournaments during the season, four of which are in the fall.

The season will open September 4 at the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate, hosted by Power 5 school Missouri. This is the second time Mason will have played in this 54-hole two-day tournament held in Verona, N.Y. It will feature the Kaluhyat course, featuring six lakes and 50 feet of elevation.

The following week, Mason will compete at the Doc Gimmler Intercollegiate hosted by St. John's University. This contest will take place on Bethpage Red Course, the second-longest of the Bethpage State Park courses, ranking only behind the famed Black Course.

To close out September, the Green and Gold will travel to A-10 conference foe Davidson in North Carolina. Mason participated in the River Run Collegiate last season, finishing fifth overall at the 7,317-yard, par 72 course.

Their last tournament of the fall takes place on the last weekend of October at the Greensboro Grandover Collegiate, hosted by UNC Greensboro.

Spring Schedule Sneak Preview: The Patriots Spring Championship schedule includes six tournaments leading up to the Atlantic 10 Championship, April 28-30 at Reunion Resort in Orlando, Florida.

The season begins again in mid-February in sunny south Florida at the Advance Golf Partners Intercollegiate by UNC Greensboro (Feb. 12-14). Last year, Mason finished 3rd out of 21 teams led by one of Mason's All-Conference selections, JP Miller, who won his first collegiate event firing a tournament best 208 total (8-under).

Following that, the Patriots will travel to Goodyear, Ariz. in late February for the Loyola (MD) Intercollegiate, played at the Palm Valley Golf course.

The Green and Gold will host the Third Annual Ross Collegiate at Mid Pines Golf Club in Pinehurst, NC (Mar. 13-14). To begin April, Mason will make its last trip out west to participate in the Redhawk Invitational hosted by Seattle University. The event will be played at Chambers Bay Golf Course, host of the 2015 U.S. Open Championship.

To close out the regular season, the Patriots will play back-to-back weekends at tournaments hosted by members of the Big Ten, Penn State (Rutherford Intercollegiate) and Ohio State (Robert Kepler Invitational).
