2023-24 School Year: What was most represented ethnicity in Prince William County districts?

Hispanic students comprised the largest ethnic group in Prince William County districts during the 2023-24 school year, according to reports from the Virginia Department of Education.

Of the 90,654 students attending Prince William County district schools, 36.9% were Hispanic. White made up the second largest ethnic group, comprising 26.2% of the student population.

In the previous school year, Hispanic students were also the most common group in Prince William County districts, representing 36.6% of the student body.

In the 2023-24 school year, the total number of students enrolled in the county dropped 0.6% compared to the previous year.

The main offices of all districts mentioned in the story are located in cities associated with Prince William County.

As of November 2023, according to Public School Review, in the 2023-24 school year, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools.
