NOVA STEM Fellowship Recipients
In August, Northern Virginia Community College announced the NOVA Systemic Fellowship program. Professional educators, college students, and high school students were invited to apply to this 9 month paid fellowship program where they could strengthen their STEM knowledge and develop leadership and professional skills. If selected for the program, the fellows could choose from one of three tracks: robotics, microelectronics or fabrication. Mileydi Villalobos and Lukas Vargas from Manassas Park High School were selected from a pool of 162 applicants to participate in the fellowship. Lukas will be part of the fabrication track and Mileydi selected the microelectronics track. Over the next 9 months, they will participate in face to face meetings, virtual meetings, and complete a minimum number of hours each week in STEM based projects. We’d like to highlight this tremendous accomplishment that these two students were selected to participate out of a large pool of applicants.
